Hi! I am Abhijay. I am an incoming M.S in Mechanical with specialization in Robotics and Control graduate student at Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University and a B.E graduate from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I am broadly interested in Robotics, particularly in Biomedical and Aeriel Robotics, Pattern Recognition, Computer Vision, Motion Planning and Machine Learning.

My research focuses on developing algorithms for machine learning and applying my methods in order to study how machines help in biomedical applications.

I have done previous research internships at Traverso Lab, Massachusetts Institute of Technology on a automated robotic platform for mobile contactless vital signs monitoring and an ingestible micro‑robotic capsule for long term monitoring of biomarkers, at the Chair of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Technical University of Munich on motion planning algorithms for autonomous vehicles; at the Intelligent Digital Manufacturing Laboratory, University of Manitoba on 3D machine vision systems for self‑adjusting welding robots; and at the Visual Computing Group, Harvard University on 3D Volumetric Segmentation for Axon Detection and Video Instance Segmentation and Annotation for multi‑scene, long‑term shots.

Right now, I am planning and applying for assistantship positions in Robotics in a MS programe. I would focus on medical, CAD or vision applicaitons of traditional robotic systems or develop novel control and mechanical architectures to encounter these fields.
